New Year, New Job.
About four weeks ago I got a call regarding a short term Flex contract in Bath. I must admit, it didn’t sound too appealing … taking on five months worth of someone else’s code, getting my head around a plethora of financial jargon and turning things around all before Christmas.
However, I agreed to do a couple of days then assess the situation. Four weeks later, after working non-stop, seven days a week, often +12 hours a day I’m happy to say that we’re on target to hit that ‘impossible deadline’.
I’m also thrilled to say that I’ve been offered, and accepted, a permanent position starting in January.
A big thank you to everyone who emailed me and offered kind words when I was made redundant. I also want to say thanks to all the people I’ve been working with who have gone out of their way to make me feel welcome – the team is the single biggest factor in my decision to go permanent.
Apologies for having to put my plans for new video tutorials on hold. I had been hoping to cover all of the Mate tutorials before January but there simply hasn’t been the free-time necessary for me to do so.
